By accessing this website you consent to the following terms and conditions of use. "This website" includes www.chesterpost.com.

Chesterpost undertakes to deliver an item of exact size and weight booked to the collection address specified not to a specific person.

Individual Parcels must not exceed 31.5kg

Collections are up to 5.30pm

We do not deliver to PO Boxes; if a parcel is returned because of this no refund will be given.

If the item is larger or heavier than what you specify you will be charged for the extra postage plus a £3.00 admin charge.

We do not offer timed collections or deliveries, our services are all day.

Collections and deliveries are on weekdays only excluding public holidays.

If you are out when the driver arrives you will not receive a refund of any part.

Delivery times are not guaranteed but generally enjoy a 97% success rate.

You may not send - Plants, Works of art, Medical remains, Financial documents, Sharp objects, Drugs, Animals, Money and Stamps, Batteries that are not packaged, indecent - obscene or offensive articles, Guns and ammo, Corrosive items, Radioactive materials, Toxic and infectious substances, Oxidising substances, Flammable items, Gases and explosives. If you send any of these items the contract between us will be deemed null and void.

We accept no responsibility for damage to ceramics and glass.

We cannot insure for damage in transit or loss to any computer screens, laptops or TVs (including LCD and Plasma) no matter what the value.

Chesterpost.com shall not be liable in respect of any Consignment delivered to the delivery address or other address specified by the addressee, where any person misrepresents his authority to receive a Consignment on the addressee's or Customer's behalf, or where Chesterpost.com is delivering it in accordance with instructions from, or purporting to be from the addressee.

The size of each Parcel must not exceed 3 metres length and girth (measured around its thickest part) combined and 1.5 metres for the greatest dimension.

It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that all parcels are correctly labeled, and that all dispatch notes are attached to the correct parcels. If you fail to check this, we are NOT responsible for any delivery problems.

It is your responsibility to ensure the goods you are sending are correctly packed (see FAQ), a good rule of thumb is can it survive a 10 foot drop?, if so it is adequately packed.

The parcel should be packed within a double walled box with the contents all gaps filled and the items cushioned. The packaging must also be sufficient to protect the products weight. Any claim resulting from a parcel that is not packaged to an adequate standard will be declined.

In the rare event of damage all packaging must be kept for inspection by the courier. The item must be available for inspection in the condition that it was delivered, at the address it was delivered to. If the item is moved / repaired or if the packaging is not kept any claim will be voided. Photographs of the packaging and item must be supplied to start a claim.

Contact claims@chesterpost.com within 7 days of receiving the item. If the item is worth over £100 we must be informed within 3 days. Failure to contact us within these timescales will make your claim void.

The relevant courier company is responsible for the insurance claim, we will complete all claim forms and act directly on your behalf.

If the outside packaging is intact, then any claim for damage to the consignment will be invalidated as the internal packaging would not have been sufficient to protect the product.

If your item causes damage to other items in transit because it is inadequately packaged you will be liable for the other damaged items.

You will only be able to claim up to a maximum of what you pay and specify in the "Quote and Book" section

We will only speak with the person who arranged the collection, no one else.

Liability is limited to the cost of sending the item only and to the Insured value if a claim is raised. We will not be liable for any further claim for any loss of profit, administrative inconvenience, disappointment, or indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of any problem in relation to the service you ordered.

All loss or damage claims will be paid out on the net price of the goods (i.e. the cost paid for them less VAT and profit margin).

It may be necessary for a claim agent to be sent out to inspect the damaged parcel; this will be arranged at your convenience.

All queries and claims must be directed to queries@chesterpost.com or claims@chesterpost.com respectively. The couriers will not speak to individuals as we own the relevant contracts.

Certain areas of Scotland, Wales and Offshore Irelands are exempt from a guaranteed delivery time; these will be highlighted in the "Quote and Book" section.

The person placing the order is responsible for the information entered. Chesterpost will not be held responsible for incorrect information that is entered and any delay this may cause. In this case no refund will be given.

Loss or damage under the following conditions will not be covered:

  • Consequences of war
  • Acts of God
  • Insufficient packaging / Incorrect labeling
  • Prohibited contents

All prices are in pounds sterling.

If an item is sent outside of these terms and conditions your card will be charged £30.00. It is a crime to obtain a service by deception.

We have described above what You should expect from Us when we supply the Service. The descriptions above are the only promises We make about the Service.

We hereby exclude and disclaim all other terms and condtions that would otherwise be implied by operation of applicable law including without limitation termns concerning satisfactory quality, merchantability and fitness for purposes.

Our liability arising from or otherwise related to the service (whether arising as a result of breach of contract or tort of statutory duty or any other legal or equitable basis) shall be limited to the fee that you pay for the service.

These terms and conditions are in addition to your statutory rights as a consumer which remains unaffected.

These terms and conditions and any contract between us shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English Law and the English Courts shall have jurisdiction over any disputes between us.

We can amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. We may notify You of the amendment by changing this document on Our web site. Please check back regularly.
