What is the maximum size I can send?

One purchase covers 1 package with a maximum weight of 31.5kg and the longest side no more than 120cm and the maximum volume no more than 0.17m3 unless the premium Oversized parcel service has been purchased. Each dimension must be below the maximum stated.

Your system will not recognize my postcode, what do I do?

Our system has a list of ALL postcodes in the UK which is updated from a national database, the postcode you are using is invalid.

What is the maximum weight?

The maximum weight is 31.5kg's if you send over this your card will be charged whatever surcharges are imposed by the courier.

How much is my item insured for?

The standard insurance is £100, we insure up to £500 for an extra charge (please see "Quote and Book")

What items are prohibited from being sent?

Plants, Works of art, Medical remains, Financial documents, Sharp objects, Drugs, Animals, Money and Stamps, Batteries that are not packaged, indecent - obscene or offensive articles, Guns and ammo, Corrosive items, Radioactive materials, Toxic and infectious substances, Oxidising substances, Flammable items, Gases and explosives

How should I package my item?

IF YOUR ITEM IS NOT PACKAGED CORRECTLY AND IS DAMAGED YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE A CLAIM

It is getting late and my parcel has still not been collected?

Our couriers collect up until 5.30pm.

The courier came but I was out

It is your responsibility to be at the collection address when the courier arrives, if you miss him/her you will still be charged for the service.

How can I pay?

We accept all major credit cards - Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Delta, Maestro Solo, Electron and American Express

I don't like inputting my card details over the internet can I call you?

Our system is fully automated so unfortunately we cannot take telephone orders.

My Parcel has been lost or damaged what do I do?

Contact claims@chesterpost.com within 7 days of receiving the item. If the item is worth over £100 we must be informed within 3 days. Failure to contact us within these timescales will make your claim void.

The claim process will take 28 working days

Keep all packaging, DO NOT THROW IT AWAY, we may need to send a damage inspector

If the parcel is damaged when it arrives sign for it but state that it is in bad condition. If you do not specify this your will not be able to claim.

Only the person who booked the consignment can initiate the claim

We need a photograph of the damaged item, photograph of the packaging and an invoice showing the cost to replace or repair the item.
